Monday 24 June 2024 Alumni Mentoring On Tuesday 18th June, we welcomed back several of our recent alumni to talk to our current Year 10’s about their post-Banovallum experiences and offer advice for students thinking about their next steps. Rahena, George, Evie, Annie, and Scarlet have gone on to do fantastic things since leaving us ranging from studying in the USA, a gap year in Australia, and setting up their own business. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and it was wonderful to have them back in school inspiring our students. We look forward to hopefully welcoming them, and others back into school again over the coming months.

Thursday 19 January 2023 Bishop Grosseteste University - 2023 Year 10 students from Banovallum School and QEGS visited Bishop Grosseteste University on Wednesday 11th January as part of the First Steps 2 Study programme. In the joint project, students from both schools participated in a variety of activities led by student ambassadors at the university aiming to raise awareness of Higher Education and encourage students to have high aspirations for their future careers. Firstly, students attended a lecture, in which they had to take detailed notes to prepare for a debating session in the afternoon - all about the pros and cons of social media. They also had a tour around the university campus, seeing all the of fantastic facilities available and to get a glimpse of what university life could be like.
